AB 701 Approved by California Legislature, Sent to Governor for Signature
(Santa Ana, CA) — Assembly Bill 701, which will end Orange County’s Vehicle License Fee Adjustment Amount (VLFAA) dispute with the State, has been approved by both houses of the California Legislature and will now go to the Governor for signature.
“Orange County will now be in the formula when it comes to the VLFAA, which has been our goal throughout this entire process,” said Shawn Nelson, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors.
“We appreciate the work of Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva (65th District) and all of the members of the Orange County legislative delegation to help us gain approval of this legislation.”
Under AB 701, the state will allocate $53 million to reset the issue and give the county six years to repay debt to the state. Continue reading→
