Two Orange County rallies against U.S. Strikes in Syria set for this week

No war on Syria

Nearly six in 10 oppose missile strikes in light of the U.S. government’s determination that Syria used chemical weapons against its own people. Democrats and Republicans alike oppose strikes by double digit margins, and there is deep opposition among every political and demographic group in the survey. Political independents are among the most clearly opposed, with 66 percent saying they are against military action, according to the Washington Post.

It is amusing that the United States, as the world’s number one arms smuggler to friendly places like Libya and Syria, would lead the effort to pass the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty (“ATT”) regulating and controlling the export of weaponry. Advocates contend ATT regulate the sale of assault weapons, such as tanks, combat vehicles, aircraft, attack helicopters and ammunition for such weapons to dangerous rogue countries who may pose a terrorist threat. But ATT only prohibits export of weapons to nation-states; it does not prohibit export to terrorists. What ATT does do is internationally define regulated weapons to include small arms and the ammunition for “such weapons”. ATT compliance will require national gun micro-stamping and registry. This week marks the second anniversary of the birth of the “Arab Spring”, which began when President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali of Tunisia fled to Saudi Arabia after only a month of protest against his rule. Egypt, Libya, and Yemen dictators have been overthrown and rebels now control most of Mali and Syria. Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Sudan are also suffering protests. The United States and Europe directly and clandestinely encouraged this revolutionary fever with the naive expectation that these countries could be pacified by evolving into European-style welfare states. Unfortunately for the West, these people have a common heritage as a series ofCaliphate Empires that from 622 AD to 1258 AD were the most powerful, wealthy and cultured nation on earth. Arab Spring revolutionaries understand it took 200 years for Islamic forces to defeat the Crusaders. They have demonstrated by invading Mali and attacking Algeria that they are embarking on a protracted war of liberation to reestablish Caliphate of the Moors to control of North Africa, the Middle East and Southern Europe. Obama backed Syrian rebels blow up Christian defense minister

The “Syria War” took a horrific escalation today as Syrian Defense Minister Dawoud Rajha, a Christian, was assassinated in a suicide bombing by the United States backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) rebels; which was immediately followed by a retaliatory Hezbollah bombing of three tour busses in Burgas, Bulgaria that killed eight Israelis. The FSA attack appears to have been coordinated to occur just before today’s United Nations Security Council meeting on imposing sanctions on Syrian leaders, including Rajha. The U.N. subsequently suspended today’s sanction vote as the war went global. Continue reading→
