Huff Transportation Measure Passes Out of Committee
Legislators Agree That Transportation Taxes Must Fund Transportation Projects
SACRAMENTO: Common sense legislation to fund road maintenance and rehabilitation is moving to a possible Senate floor vote after passing out of the Senate Transportation and Infrastructure Development Committee. SCAX1 1, authored by Senator Bob Huff (R-San Dimas), would guarantee that all existing transportation taxes are spent on transportation projects.
Senator Huff introduced the measure in the Special Session on Transportation convened by the Governor, who challenged the Legislature to “enact permanent and sustainable funding to maintain and repair the state’s transportation and critical infrastructure, improve the state’s key trade corridors and complement local infrastructure efforts.” Continue reading
