Statement from American Progressive Bag Alliance on California Senate Bill 405

Sacramento, Calif. – Today the California State Senate voted against Senate Bill 405, a ban on 100 percent recyclable plastic bags and a tax on paper bags.

Statement from American Progressive Bag Alliance on California Senate Bill 405

Sacramento, calif. – The California State Senate voted today to move forward on Senate Bill 405, a ban on 100 percent recyclable plastic bags. The vote, which received bipartisan opposition, threatens manufacturing jobs in the state in pursuit of a backwards policy that will increase the average shopper’s carbon footprint. Policies to ban plastic bags are not based on scientific data and will ultimately push consumers toward alternatives that are harmful to the environment. Continue reading→
