Orange County, CA — Assemblyman Tyler Diep was awarded a coveted Rose Award at the Orange County Taxpayers Association’s (OCTax) annual award dinner this past Wednesday.
“OCTax is pleased with Assemblyman Tyler Diep’s continuing commitment to protect Orange County taxpayers from hurtful tax increases. Assemblyman Diep stood strong in opposition to ACA 1, a constitutional amendment that would weaken Prop 13 protections for millions of Californians,” said Carolyn Cavecche, President and CEO of OCTax.
OCTax is an association of business owners and taxpayers that was founded in 1986 to represent the interest of the taxpayers on government tax and spending policy issues. OCTax previously recognized Tyler Diep’s work to protect Orange County taxpayers in 2017, when he was awarded his first Rose Award for his work on the Westminster City Council.
“I am honored to be recognized by the Orange County Taxpayers Association for my commitment to lowering the tax burden on California businesses and families,” said Diep. “I am especially proud to stand against ACA 1, a harmful piece of legislation that could have priced millions of Californians out of their homes.”
Diep was elected to the Assembly in 2018 after one of the highest profile legislative campaigns in the state. Diep won despite being outspent by more 2 to 1 in the general. He was previously a councilmember and businessman in Westminster. Tyler has been a strong taxpayer advocate, is committed to job creation and supporting small businesses by keeping taxes low, and has prioritized public safety.
The 72nd District includes all of Westminster, Garden Grove, Fountain Valley, Los Alamitos, Seal Beach, a portion of Huntington Beach and the unincorporated county island of Midway City. To learn more about Diep and his campaign, please visit: www.TylerDiep.com
