Supervisors Adopt Supervisor Spitzer’s Proposal for an Ordinance Prohibiting Signature Solicitation for Candidate Nomination Papers from County Employees

The Board of Supervisors (4-1; Moorlach voting no) approved Supervisor Spitzer’s ordinance this week with the passage of the second reading for a new ordinance that bans circulating nomination papers to Orange County employees while they are at work.
“I want this ordinance to send a strong message of two things: Number one, don’t engage in political conduct on county property. You’re more than likely to end up in trouble,” Spitzer said. “Number two; don’t wait until the last minute to get your signatures.” Continue reading
