If you live in the 37th State Senate district, which includes the cities of Huntington Beach (south), Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Irvine, Tustin, Lake Forest, Laguna Beach,Laguna Woods, Villa Park, Orange, and Anaheim (east), you may have noticed a series of robo-calls invading your voice-mails lately on behalf of the establishment candidate for State Senate, Union-supported Assemblyman Don Wagner.

The Unions have already spent well over $100,000 on Independent Expenditure mailers and ads supporting Wagner, and the flood of Union money continues to pour in. I’ve been told that in just the last few days alone, Unions and Special Interests have spent over $60,000 on Wagner’s behalf, flooding voter’s voice-mails and mailboxes with lies and distortions targeted at the conservative in this race John Moorlach. Huff fires a Latino staffer who was accosted by teachers union members

The Flash Report has broken a truly disturbing story. Apparently State Senator Bob Huff has fired one of his own staffers, Arturo Garcia – after Garcia was accosted by teachers union members!

Huff has been hiring Latino staffers for some time – but if this is how he is going to treat them then I suggest they stay clear of his office.

Liberals in Costa Mesa are trying to mount a boycott against a bar/restaurant called Skosh Monahan’s, because it is owned by conservative Costa Mesa Councilman Gary Monahan.

Fans and friends of Monahan will be gathering at Skosh Monahan’s on Sunday, January 4, 2015, from 5 to 8 pm to celebrate both the birthday of Costa Mesa Mayor Steve Mensinger and that of Costa Mesa Planning Commission Chairman Jim Fitzpatrick – and to “bust the boycott.” Continue reading→

TWO PRIVATE INVESTIGATORS WORKING FOR POLICE UNION LAW FIRM ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH CONSPIRING TO COMMIT CRIMES AGAINST COSTA MESA COUNCILMEN AND AN ATTORNEY

SANTA ANA – Two private investigators working for a law firm retained by the Costa Mesa Police Officers’ Association (CMPOA) were arrested on charges of committing crimes against two Costa Mesa council members and a competitor attorney. Christopher Joseph Lanzillo, 45, Lake Arrowhead, and Scott Alan Impola, 46, Canyon Lake, are each charged with two felony counts of conspiracy to commit a crime of unlawful use of electronic tracking device, one felony count of false imprisonment by deceit, and one felony count of conspiracy to commit a crime of falsely reporting crime to agency. If convicted, Lanzillo and Impola face a maximum sentence of four years and four months in jail, as well as revocation of their private investigators’ licenses. They are each being held on $25,000 bail and are scheduled to be arraigned at a later date.

Orange County’s unions line up behind Lou Correa for the First Supervisorial District

The Orange County Labor Federation (OCLF) delegate body voted last Thursday to endorse Senator Lou Correa for his County Supervisor candidacy, in the special election set for January 27th of 2015. The deciding delegate body voted after the Committee on Political Education (COPE) conducted candidate interviews and a recommendation was made and voted on by the Executive Board.

As the election approaches to fill the vacated seat on the Orange County Board of Supervisors, OCLF endorsed the only candidate who will make sure workers and communities have a seat at the table.

“We represent more than 90 local unions here at the Federation and Senator Lou Correa would represent a large portion of our membership. He has worked to create jobs, bringing together labor and businesses, working together on issues and focusing on the future of the communities he represents,” said Julio Perez, Executive Director of the Orange County Labor Federation. The OC Labor Federation touts their 2014 General Election victories

The Orange County Labor Federation sent out a press release today touting their victories in the 2014 General Elections. The candidates they backed were, as usual, mostly Democrats. The OC Labor Federation also backed a slew of ballot measures that will result in higher taxes, including a pair of successful school board measures and a devious Utility Tax increase in Santa Ana.
