Katherine Daigle, “a conservative-leaning Irvine mayoral candidate has firmly denied being a “fraudulent” contender who naively went along with a plan to “steal” the local election,” according to the O.C. Register.

The OC Weekly broke the story earlier this month that a political consultant named Patrick Strader, allied with Larry Agran, had lured Daigle into the Irvine Mayor’s race in order to split the Republican vote, dooming top GOP challenger Steven Choi. Orange County’s best investigative reporter, the OC Weekly’s R. Scott Moxley, has done it again. This time he has exposed Irvine mayoral candidate Katherine Daigle for what she is – a Larry Agran plant meant to split the GOP vote so Councilman Steven Choi will lose.

There are two seats open on the Irvine City Council this November – and there are now six declared candidates, including:

Republican Evan Chemers, a business owner who says he will vote against all tax increases. His slogan is “Lower Taxes. Smaller Government. No Wasteful Spending.” You can check out his campaign Facebook page here.
