It was a rough day for Karina Onofre, the former Republican now running as a Democrat for the 74th Assembly District. She sent me a press release this morning, consisting of an “open letter to Shelly Stirling,” but before I could post it I discovered that TJ Simers, the famed sports columnist who used to work at the LA Times but now writes for the OC Register, had stumbled across Onofre’s ads in his paper – and Simers let her have it.
Then, this afternoon, came word that former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer had purchased the Clippers for $2 billion dollars. You can bet that Ballmer won’t be heeding Onofre’s plea to move the Clippers to Orange County. Ballmer, a resident of Seattle, will surely move the Clippers to the Northwest to replace the dearly departed Seattle Supersonics, who we now call the Oklahoma Thunder. Continue reading
