Spitzer and Veterans Advisory Council Chair McDonald Call for Expansion of 2-1-1 Orange County to Include Veteran Resources
(Orange County, CA) — Board of Supervisors Chairman Todd Spitzer and Veterans Advisory Council Chairman Bobby McDonald are calling for an expansion services for veterans and veteran families through the County of Orange’s 2-1-1 service. 2-1-1 Orange County is a database portal that links targeted people to needed serves by helping to navigate options and pre-screen eligibility. Currently, 2-1-1 services those with special needs, mentally ill, homeless, victims of domestic violence and others.
“It is painful to realize that many of the homeless are also veterans,” Chairman Spitzer said. “Expanding the 2-1-1 service to veterans and their families is a big step in the right direction in our effort to help end homelessness.” Continue reading
