NGUYEN RENEGES ON CAMPAIGN PROMISES, VOTES IN HIS OWN SELF-INTEREST
Bao Nguyen’s Record Reveals a Troubling Pattern of Prioritizing Personal Gain Over the Well-being of his Constituents
Santa Ana, CA- Bao Nguyen is not a true progressive. He has made a career out of promising one thing to voters, but then immediately abandoning his principles the moment it becomes personally or politically expedient to do so. That’s why it is not surprising that he failed the residents of Garden Grove both as their School Board Member and later, as their Mayor.
In the 2012 and 2014 elections, Bao vowed to protect our children’s future and provide teachers with the tools they needed to successfully do their jobs. In reality, he broke this promise and protected neither. In 2013, in an attempt to fix the $60 million deficit he helped create on the Garden Grove School Board, Bao voted to cut teachers’ hours, increase class sizes and decrease the overall number of teachers on four separate occasions. Rather than eliminating bureaucratic waste and creating a bright future for our children, Bao voted to renege on his campaign promises and reduce the resources available to our students and teachers. BAO NGUYEN: PAY-TO-PLAY POLITICIAN
Nguyen Accepts Thousands in Wall Street and Special Interest Donations
Santa Ana, CA- On May 9th at a Candidate forum, Bao Nguyen boldly said, “Money is the problem and that’s what Senator Bernie Sanders has highlighted. He’s not an establishment candidate, and I’m not either.” Yet within weeks of making this statement, Bao cashed checks from UBS Wealth Management and Wells Fargo executives.
Whether it is granting huge tax breaks to campaign contributors or awarding multimillion-dollar city projects and development deals to campaign donors, Bao has a history of accepting questionable contributions from special interests and engaging in pay-to-play politics. For someone who supposedly shares Senator Sander’s wariness of big moneyed donors, his campaign relies on their support and the dirty political tactics that come along with it. Continue reading

PARTY HOPPING BAO NGUYEN FAILED TO VOTE IN NATIONAL ELECTIONS
46th District Congressional Candidate, Lou Correa, Calls Opponent a “Sellout and Hypocrite”
SANTA ANA, CA – Colorado voter registration records revealed today show that Orange County Congressional candidate Bao Nguyen was once a registered Republican. Nguyen registered as a Republican while living in Colorado in 2004. Four years later he registered ‘decline-to-state’. It was not until he ran for office in 2010 that he officially registered as and remained a Democrat.
Today’s revelation is another in a long pattern of misleading claims by the self-proclaimed “progressive.” Continue reading

BAO NGUYEN CONTINUES TO GROW SUPPORT FROM CALIFORNIA’S LABOR MOVEMENT
ORANGE COUNTY, CA – Today, Mayor Bao Nguyen’s campaign for California’s 46th Congressional district received the endorsement of the National Union of Healthcare Workers (NUHW), an organization that advocates for healthcare workers and for quality patient care. NUHW is a worker-led union representing more than 10,000 healthcare workers throughout the state of California. NUHW joins a growing list of labor unions and health and patient advocacy groups standing with Nguyen, including National Nurses United and the California Nurses Association.
“NUHW is proud to be part of the movement to elect Mayor Bao Nguyen for Congress,” said NUHW President Sal Rosselli. “Mayor Nguyen is the candidate that has always stood up for working families here in California. Bao has history of activism in the labor movement, as a labor organizer, and as a strong ally for us. Continue reading
