Lake Forest Councilman Adam Nick drops his defamation lawsuit against Deputy DA Jess Rodriguez
The OCDA has published a dismissal statement signed by Deputy District Attorney (DDA) Jess Rodriguez and Lake Forest Council Member Adam Nick.
On Jan. 28, 2016, a judge dismissed with prejudice a civil lawsuit against DDA Rodriguez personally, by defendant Nick, who was previously prosecuted by DDA Rodriguez on behalf of OCDA.

LAKE FOREST COUNCILMAN CHARGED WITH ILLEGALLY REMOVING CAMPAIGN SIGNS BELONGING TO ANOTHER COUNCILMAN
NEWPORT BEACH – A Lake Forest councilman was charged today for removing campaign signs on public display belonging to another city councilman. Adam Nick, 50, Lake Forest, is charged with one misdemeanor count of petty theft and one misdemeanor count of receiving stolen property. He is also charged with violating a Lake Forest Municipal Code section regarding campaign signs. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of one year in jail. He is scheduled to be arraigned on March 2, 2015, at 8:30 a.m. in Department H-8, Harbor Justice Center, Newport Beach.
At the time of the crime, Nick was serving as Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Lake Forest. Continue reading
Poll - Should Lake Forest City Councilman Adam Nick resign?

During a Nov. 4 City Council meeting, Councilman Dave Bass said Nick should voluntarily leave office because police last month named him as a suspect in campaign sign thefts. Now Mayor Dwight Robinson has also asked that Nick resign.
Nick was stopped by deputies at about 2 a.m. Oct. 9 with campaign signs belonging to Councilman Scott Voigts in his car., according to the O.C. Register.
Nick ran as a carpetbagger candidate this November in the 46th Congressional District, which includes the Cities of Anaheim and Santa Ana - and is miles away from Lake Forest. Nick lost by over 14,000 votes to the incumbent, Loretta Sanchez. Continue reading
Carpetbagging 46th CD candidate Nick caught stealing signs in Lake Forest
A couple of nights ago, a deputy spotted a black Ford sedan in a no-parking zone near Bake Parkway and Trabuco Road and saw a man with campaign signs climb into the passenger seat. The driver was Lake Forest Mayor Pro Tem Adam Nick, according to the Sheriff’s Department, and in the car were 10 campaign signs belonging to Scott Voigts, a fellow councilman seeking re-election, according to Sarah de Crescenzo at the OC Register.
Calling the incident, at 2 a.m. Thursday, a misunderstanding, Nick said Friday he had taken Voigts’ signs to move them to a better location, though he had not asked his permission to do so. “They’re making something out of nothing,” Nick said. (OC Register) Continue reading
Woman who helped collect signatures for Lake Forest carpetbagge Walker indicted

Lake Forest carpetbaggers Sherry Walker and Adam Nick
The woman who helped collect nomination signatures for Lake Forest carpetbagger Sherry Walker, Farzaneh Akhavi, 55, aka Frances Akhavi, has been indicted on charges of bank fraud, wire fraud, aggravated identity theft and money laundering, by a grand jury in Phoenix, Arizona, according to the East Valley Tribune.
Both Walker and Nick changed their names. They are originally from Iran. Walker also became a registered Republican right before running for the 69th Assembly District.
The indictment refers to the victim only by the initials SRG. But court records showed a federal civil lawsuit was filed against Akhavi last month by a California woman named Soraya Ghalchi, who claimed she was defrauded out of hundreds of thousands of dollars in the financial scheme, according to AZ Central.
