It was going to be an uphill battle for Asm. Young Kim and sure enough when the votes were tallied she ended up losing in a close raise to her predecessor, Sharon Quirk-Silva, in the 65th Assembly District, by about 1,500 votes.
Quirk-Silva most likely benefited from a surge of Latino voters who presumably went to the polls to vote for Hillary Clinton. Continue reading
