Supervisor Todd Spitzer Delivers Reward Money to Matthew Hay-Chapman for Helping in Apprehension in Jail Escapees
(Orange County, CA) – Supervisor Todd Spitzer delivered the $100,000 reward to Matthew Hay-Chapman today in Northern California. Hay-Chapman was the first to be identified as a potential reward recipient for providing information leading to the capture of escaped inmates Hossein Nayeri, Jonathan Tieu and Bac Duong, who are now in custody.
“Matthew Hay-Chapman described to me that he felt it was his ‘duty’ to report the escapees. His brave actions were a reflection of his character and I hope the reward will help him out,” said Supervisor Todd Spitzer. “The most important thing is that the jail escapees are recaptured.” Supervisor Todd Spitzer thanked the Orange County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance with coordinating the meeting with Hay-Chapman.
