Fee Waivers Offered to Encourage Animal Adoptions
Faced with an abundance of dogs, cats and rabbits filling cages, the OC Animal Shelter will begin waiving fees for pets being adopted by residents from across Orange County after the waivers were approved by the Board of Supervisors and the shelter’s city partners.
Regular adoption fees – with the exception of a $27 charge for rabies licenses – will be waived beginning Thursday, November 3, until capacity at the shelter drops below 60%. Continue reading
Supervisors Support Fee Waiver to Encourage Animal Adoptions
Faced with an abundance of dogs, cats and rabbits filling space at the OC Animal Shelter, the Board of Supervisors has voted to allow OC Animal Care to waive adoption fees for pets being adopted in unincorporated areas, with plans to expand countywide.
“We hope that by waiving adoption fees, this will provide an additional incentive for the swift and responsible adoption of shelter animals to prevent overcrowding and provide them with loving new homes,” said Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Lisa Bartlett, Fifth District. Continue reading
State Senator Janet Nguyen was once mentored by Garden Grove City Councilman Van Tran. In fact she and her husband even had a joint honeymoon with Tran and his wife. However after she got elected to the Garden Grove City Council she turned on Tran and became his bitter enemy. I asked her why that came to be a few years ago and she said that Tran tried to control her City Council campaign.
Now many years later Nguyen has turned on a candidate who was once her right hand - Andrew Do. He served as Nguyen’s Chief of Staff and when she moved on to the State Senate, Nguyen helped Do to take her place at the Orange County Board of Supervisors. Then she turned on him just like she once turned on Tran.
