On his website and in emails today, AD74 Candidate Keith Curry seems to be bending perception a bit by trying to make it look like he’s been endorsed by the Daily Pilot, an LA Times local paper that focuses on Newport Beach and Costa Mesa. Continue reading
With our Stop the Dock Tax effort winding down, I have been asked about the candidates in upcoming election for State Assembly.

OCPB has learned the Orange County Lincoln Club has UNendorsed AD74 Candidate Keith Curry. As of this weekend, Curry’s name no longer appears on their State Endorsements web page. We understand the action was taken as Curry has accepted a campaign donation from the OC Firefighters Union.
As the slates and mailers roll out, Newport Beach Councilman Keith Curry won’t be hiding from his past recommendations for TAX HIKES in support of Jerry Brown’s Bullet Train (Chris Reed has a terrific piece here about the Browndoggle).
The images here will be hitting the 74th Assembly District next week, as Curry’s opponent, Emanuel Patrascu, keeps reminding him how he and his firm, Public Financial Management advised the High Speed Rail Authority to pursue “a 5-cent increase in the statewide gas tax could raise more than $770 million a year over 35 years,” according to an April 1996 issue of The Bond Buyer. The candidates at the forum included several Republican candidates: RINO Newport Beach Councilman Keith Curry; Huntington Beach Mayor Matt Harper, who talks conservative but acts otherwise; Emanuel Patrascu, district director for Assemblyman Travis Allen; and two Democrats – small business owner Karina Onofre and public schoolteacher Anila Ali. You know it’s the Silly Season when the Lincoln Club elites venture out of the $130 million Taj Mahal and have their attorney friends get their hands dirty by suing their opponents for ballot designations. Jack Wu, an NB politico, Daily Pilot columnist and Dana Rohrabacher fan discusses the latest nonsense in a Register piece dated yesterday: Patrascu’s 74th Assembly District ballot designation prompts lawsuit.
