The Fountain Valley City Council race features two Vietnamese Americans – but they could not be more different from each other.
Incumbent Councilman Michael Vo has a sordid history of selling his vote for campaign contributions. When he did not allow the waste disposal contract in Fountain Valley to go to bid he was rewarded with a campaign contribution from the city’s longtime trash vendor – Rainbow Disposal. The people of Fountain Valley have paid for that deal with trash rates that are among the highest in Orange County!
Vo also recently got caught taking a campaign contribution from Clear Channel, an advertising company that is trying to install a dangerous digital billboard near the Fountain Valley Water Tank. Why is it dangerous? Because it will have freeway visibility for those driving on the 405 Freeway. Studies show that these signs can distract drivers and cause fatal car accidents.
