Concerned residents convinced the Garden Grove City Council, at their meeting tonight, to oppose the Orange County Vector Control District’s plans to conduct aerial spraying of mosquito poison over our homes. The Garden Grove City Council is sending a letter to the Vector Control District asking them to delay the spraying and hold public hearings, according to KCBS News.
A Facebook group committed to stopping the spraying now has over 1,500 members. Click here to join. Many of these concerned residents protested at the offices of the Vector Control District, in Garden Grove, today.
As usual the Vector Control District is trying to scare us but the reality is that this spraying is not necessary. They are doing it to justify their budget and their continued pilfering of our property tax dollars. Continue reading
Here we go again. The Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control District has announced that they are going to be conducting aerial spraying of a chemical poison over the cities of Orange, Tustin, Villa Park and portions of Anaheim, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Santa Ana and Stanton between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, and Thursday, September 10, 2015 (weather permitting).
The chemical is called Duet. This is a mosquito control product registered for use by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). That said it is a terrible idea to spray this product. Duet is highly toxic to other insects, such as bees. It is also deadly to fish. Continue reading

Orange County Supervisor Andrew Do will unveil a new statue of President Ronald Reagan in Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley this Friday June 12, at 3PM. The statue, which was privately donated, will commemorate Orange County’s unique ties to the 40th President of the United States, who launched his 1984 presidential reelection campaign at the park.
Former Congressman Chris Cox, who served in the Reagan administration, will deliver the keynote address. Continue reading
Orange County First District Supervisor Andrew Do immediately disappointed us when he hired his Chief of Staff – the odious and overpaid Brian Probolsky. Probolsky is being paid over $60 an hour – and now we know what we, the taxpayers, are getting for our money.
Do recently dispatched Probolsky to the “Annual Kids’ Fishing Derby,” at the North Lake of Mile Square Regional Park in Fountain Valley. OC Parks hosted the event with the California Department of Fish and Game and United Anglers of Southern California. Continue reading
Pity the poor Orange County Democrats. They lost two local legislative seats in the November General Election – and the liberal Democrats in Huntington Beach and in Irvine got the boot as well. But the Democratic Club of West Orange County is moving forward with a holiday dinner on Sunday, December 7, 2014, at 5 pm, at the Claim Jumper Restaurant Banquet Room, at 18050 Brookhurst Street, in Fountain Valley.
And get this – their keynote speaker will be Jose Solorio – who just got his head handed to him by Janet Nguyen in the race for the 34th State Senate District. Solorio is apparently going to talk about “lessons learned in 2014.” I think the lesson he learned was not to hire Sacramento consultant Richie Ross again! Continue reading
