Deborah Pauly, a former Villa Park councilwoman and a candidate for state Assembly, was arrested in Anaheim earlier this month for drunken driving, according to a spokesman with the Anaheim Police Department, according to the Voice of OC.
The Republican Party has been imploding in rage since the U.S. Supreme Court gave their blessing to gay marriage but that has not stopped Garden Grove Mayor Bao Nguyen from coming out of the closet, even as he considers a run for the U.S. House of Representatives seat that is being vacated by U.S. Rep. Loretta Sanchez.
Nguyen is a Democrat and he will be facing quite a bit of competition from his own party, for the Sanchez seat, in the 46th Congressional District. Other Democrats vying for the seat include former State Legislator and County Supervisor Lou Correa and Los Angeles County resident Heberto Sanchez. The latter is unknown and has previously run for a local office in Pomona, but obviously he shares the same surname as the incumbent, which may benefit his campaign. Continue reading
Former Villa Park City Councilwoman Deborah Pauly announced today that she is going to run for the 68th Assembly District in 2016. The incumbent in that seat, Don Wagner, is terming out.
Pauly will face off against Anaheim Councilman Harry Sidhu, who is part of former Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle’s lousy cabal that has given away millions of taxpayer dollars in corporate welfare to hotel developers and the Disney company. Continue reading
The dreadful Anaheim Chamber of Commerce got punked this week by the Coalition of Anaheim Taxpayers for Economic Responsibility (CATER) at the Chamber’s Annual Taste of Anaheim event, which was redubbed the “Waste of Anaheim” in a flier that CATER volunteers passed out to over 500 of the attendees at this event, according to the Save Anaheim blog.
The flier pointed out the hypocrisy of charging folks to attend this event when the Anaheim City Council had already forked over thousands of dollars to the Chamber – as much as $160K to host such events. So the taxpayers in effect were charged twice to attend the “Waste of Anaheim!” Continue reading
Anaheim’s new ARTIC transit center will run into a $2 million operating deficit by the end of June, and Anaheim officials will soon consider how to cover the shortfall, according to the O.C. Register.
Of course we all new this was coming. Former Anaheim Mayor turned lobbyist Curt Pringle drove the ARTIC project – and lied to everyone about the estimated use of this unneeded building.
Anaheim already had a functional train station, in the parking lot of Angel Stadium. They did not need ARTIC. And apparently the business community agrees as ARTIC has been unable to attract a sponsor dumb enough to put their name on the empty building, for the sum of over $160K a year. Continue reading
Here we go again. Our blogger Aaron Park, who is heavily involved with the California Republican Assembly (CRA) went after two good Orange County conservatives last year (Anna Bryson and Greg Raths).
Now there are signs that Park is going to try to trash former O.C. Supervisor John Moorlach, who is running against Don Wagner for the 37th State Senate District. Park already wrote one post about the race yesterday – and he purposefully misspelled Moorlach’s name in the process, which I corrected. Continue reading
