State Assemblyman Allan Mansoor and State BOE Member Michelle Steel will surely take giant whacks at each other in this year’s race for the 2nd Supervisorial District, but there is also forgotten third candidate. That would be Alan Schlar, a marketing executive in Huntington Beach who does not belong to a political party.
Schlar ran against Congressman Dana Rohrabacher in 2012, and got just over 5,500 votes, according to Smart Voter. The Democrat in that election, Ron Varasteh, got over 31,000 votes. Rohrabacher doubled down with over 73,000 votes. Continue reading
