SANTA ANA, Calif. – A masked protestor was charged with illegally possessing tear gas outside of a Milo Yiannopoulos speaking event at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF).
Defendant: Rhapsody Elle Johnson, 24, Los Angeles
Charged on May 15, 2018, with:
- One misdemeanor count of felon in possession of tear gas
Maximum Sentence: One year in county jail
Arraignment on June 12, 2018, 8:30 a.m. at Department N-8, North Justice Center, Fullerton
Circumstances of the Case
- On Oct. 31, 2017, a large group gathered at CSUF to protest guest speaker Milo Yiannopoulos on campus.
Johnson is accused of possessing pepper spray at the protest outside of the venue, which she attended dressed in tactical gear, including a helmet. - CSUF Police arrested Johnson during the protest and investigated the case.
