PARTY HOPPING BAO NGUYEN FAILED TO VOTE IN NATIONAL ELECTIONS
46th District Congressional Candidate, Lou Correa, Calls Opponent a “Sellout and Hypocrite”
SANTA ANA, CA – Colorado voter registration records revealed today show that Orange County Congressional candidate Bao Nguyen was once a registered Republican. Nguyen registered as a Republican while living in Colorado in 2004. Four years later he registered ‘decline-to-state’. It was not until he ran for office in 2010 that he officially registered as and remained a Democrat.
Today’s revelation is another in a long pattern of misleading claims by the self-proclaimed “progressive.”
“There is a reason Bao’s rhetoric so starkly contradicts his record. Bao is a chameleon, who will blend in with and adapt to his surroundings. He is a hypocrite and sellout who capitalizes on the current political climate and uses public opinion to his advantage. He will willingly renounce his ‘deepest-held’ beliefs this week, to advance his career next week,” said former State Senator Lou Correa.
Records also indicate that, in 2004, Bao failed to vote in the Bush v. Kerry 2004 primary and general election. He also failed to vote on a number of significant initiatives, including CA Proposition 63.
CA Prop 63 is a ballot measure that worked to expand access to mental health services. Bao claims to support improving mental health care in California, but failed to take action when he had the opportunity to do so.
Moreover, Nguyen has been a no-show on dozens of important propositions and elections both in California and Colorado. Initiatives included raising the minimum wage, helping disabled veterans, gay marriage, cracking down on public corruption, immigration, and criminal justice reform.
“Bao did not vote or support issues that he now claims are his ‘core values.’ He failed to act when it came time to vote on generation-defining matters. Voters deserve leaders who will stand up for what they believe in—not sit on the sidelines,” added Correa.
Typical corrupt politician!
