Press Conference to Present SB 1273, Emergency Mental Health Services Funding
WHO: Senator John Moorlach (R-Costa Mesa); Police Chief Charles F. Celano, Jr., Tustin Police Department; Steven C. Moreau, President and Chief Executive Officer of St. Joseph Hospital; Dr. Peter Anderson, Physician, Orange County Medical Association (OCMA) Representative for Supervisors Behavioral Health Ad Hoc; Orange County Supervisor Andrew Do; Orange County Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Lisa Bartlett.
WHAT: California is facing a mental health crisis. Local government and the medical industry are struggling to handle the mental health services needs of their local communities. Senator Moorlach, Supervisor Do, Chairwoman Bartlett, representatives from the hospital industry, and local law enforcement will come together to discuss SB 1273, which will allow local counties to dedicate Mental Health Services Act resources to crisis stabilization services for individuals who are in mental health crisis.
