How typical is it that the OC’s RINO County Supervisors would jump at the opportunity to grab a revenue stream from the online ridesharing services that
might will put taxi companies out of business.
From Wednesday’s Register story: “It should be a free market,” Chairman Todd Spitzer said. Well WTF, Todd? If you want a free market (as any true Conservative would), why will you stick $2.25 to every TNC rider? Will you do that to cab riders as well?? For the tribute, do Uber and Lyft get their own depot across from baggage claim and prioritized airport parking? The Supes missed an opportunity to stick a $4 charge to every ride service vehicle that enters JWA property (John Wayne is controlled by the County, and its Manager reports to the BOS) as LAX does to its cabs. Spitzer must be giving them a break after all.
