AD73: Complete Falsehood About Anna Bryson’s “Lavish Stay”
By Art Sanchez, Campaign Manager, Anna Bryson for State Assembly 2014
(This is the 10th in a series of blog posts “Setting the Record Straight on Anna Bryson”)
Aaron Park implied and candidate Jesse Petrilla said that taxpayers had paid for Anna go to a July 2010 conference in South Carolina. Petrilla called this a ‘lavish stay” at a resort in the city of Charleston. Petrilla spread this tale in mailers that went out to tens of thousands of likely voters.
Petrilla and Brough-blogger Park both spoke of this alleged episode as a “junket.” Park added that this incident showed that Anna had “her fingers in the cookie jar.” Park again in a 5/23/14 blog post spoke of “lavish taxpayer-funded junkets.”
Big problem with this tale – it’s a lie: Anna never attended the described conference. She has never been to this “lavish” resort (the Charleston Place Hotel) in South Carolina.
In fact, Jennifer Beall (who is Bill Brough’s campaign manager) had an e-mail exchange with Anna on this very topic back on July 20 and July 21, 2010. Jennifer Beall knows that Anna had not been on this supposed Charleston junket. Beall also knows, from this e-mail exchange, that Anna had not stayed at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City, which Brough-blogger Park also exclaimed over (“Good Lord, rooms at the Waldorf”).
