From the New Anaheim Blog
The race for Area 2 of the Anaheim Union High School District’s Board of Education has apparently already attracted two carpetbaggers. The District covers 46 square miles and stretches across the cities of Anaheim, Cypress, Buena Park, La Palma and Stanton, and has 31,000 students.
One of them, Eleazar Elizondo, ran for the Orange County Board of Education in 2012, as a resident of Santa Ana. He came in dead last garnering only 7% of the vote, according to Smart Voter.
Elizondo ran for the Santa Ana City Council in 2002, losing to Mike Garcia while totaling less than 5,000 votes, according to Smart Voter.
Elizondo ran for OC Supervisor in District 1 back in 2000, losing to Chuck Smith, who netted over 60% of the vote, according to Smart Voter.
The really crazy thing about Elizondo is that his Facebook page says he runs a company in Las Vegas, NV, and that he moved out there in February.
The other alleged carpetbagger is Annmarie Randle-Trejo, who was elected in 2012 to fill out the last two years of Trustee Jan Harp-Domene’s term after that Trustee suddenly passed away. My sources tell me that Randle-Trejo moved to East Anaheim to run for Area 2. She is originally from Garden Grove.
The remaining candidate is Jose “Joe” Moreno, a County healthcare worker who ran for the 69th Assembly District in 2012. Moreno is a dad with kids in the local schools and he has lived in Area 2 for a very long time. He would be a great Trustee and I hope that the voters give him their support.
The incumbent in the position, who remains in the same position she had when elected two years ago, is a carpetbagger? Will you still consider her a carpetbagger in Anaheim in 2018? In 2022?
Apparently she moved from from one area in the district to another. You’ll have to ask her why she did that.
