Faster than Todd Spitzer or The Toll Roads can reinstall a manned toll booth (hopefully they haven’t been sold for scrap) to collect their outsized tribute, the Internet scammers who live for this sort of opportunity have emailed a credible notice into Orange County and elsewhere trolling for low-information voters to opt into a phishing scheme.
Don’t click that “here” link if you received this — you’ll likely be presented with a form to fill out that wants plenty of personal information that will only compromise your privacy and try to get into your checking or credit card account. Unless you’re from Westminster, savvy Internet users should be able to recognize these scams.
