REP. SANCHEZ RELEASES STATEMENT ON BUDGET PROPOSAL
WASHINGTON – Rep. Loretta Sanchez (CA-46) today released the following statement in response to the budget deal proposed by Senate Budget Committee Chairwoman Patty Murray and House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan last night.
“The fact that both Democrats and Republicans came to the table, negotiated and came back with a budget agreement for the first time in three years is an incredible accomplishment in this age of dysfunction.
“However, the deal is far from perfect and I am especially concerned about the lack of long-term unemployment benefits and cuts to military pensions. I look forward to examining the details and working with my colleagues to ensure that any budget we pass is one that works for the American people.”
Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez is proud to represent California’s 46th Congressional District, which includes the cities of Anaheim, Santa Ana, and parts of the cities of Garden Grove and Orange in Orange County. She serves as Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Tactical Air and Land Forces and the second ranked Democrat on the Committee on Homeland Security. Rep. Sanchez is also a member of the fiscally conservative Blue Dog Coalition and sits on the bipartisan, bicameral Joint Economic Committee.
