Per this piece in today’s FlashReport, Agran Era “Study” Being Used To Try And Jam Through $1M++ in New Irvine Public Fees, Irvine Councilmembers Lalloway, Shea and Choi have rejected any increases.
Irvine Finance Commissioner Allan Bartlett (who was the only resident to speak on the issue) just tweeted from their Council Chamber:
Once again, Irvine’s liberal Democrats Beth Krom and Larry Agran have learned that elections have consequences and big government is dying in the city they no longer rule.
We hope the Register’s in the room and asks someone who much staff time and expense went into a proposal that could not have possibly made it past the Republican majority. Jon Fleischman described it in the link above as a “lengthy (and no doubt expensive) report that was commissioned by the city”.
