“A coalition of gay and lesbian groups lost its bid in court Thursday to force the Little Saigon Tet Parade organizers to include the group in this Sunday’s event. Orange County Superior Court Judge Geoffrey T. Glass ruled against granting injunctive relief to the Partnership of Viet Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Organizations,” according to the O.C. Register.
“For three years, LGBT activists have participated in the colorful gathering in Little Saigon, but this year — with the event shifting from city sponsorship to private hands — they have been rebuffed and quietly told to make a “sacrifice” and stay away, members said,” according to the L.A. Times.
Did the gay groups work to raise money to save this parade? As far as I know, they did not. But they sure tried to hijack the parade and that was not right.
I am all for gay rights but flaunting gay issues at a parade that is supposed to be about the Vietnamese culture is wrong, period. In fact one gay couple kissed last year while walking in the parade and said they would do so again this year. No one of any gender should be making out at a community parade! And this parade is not an appropriate forum for political issues unless they have something to do with Vietnam.
Shame on the liberal politicians who have taken the side of the hijackers – in particular Garden Grove School Board Member Bao Nguyen. He has done a disservice to his community. What did Bao do to raise money so that the parade could be held, I wonder? I doubt it!
Kudos to attorneys Dina Nguyen and Mark Rosen for beating the hijackers in court.

The same error by the LGBT Groups over and over again.
1) Have a transgender spokesperson.
2) Can the organization refuse to allow women or men based on gender?
WIN!
The problem is that they want to always make it about sexual preference. You can’t win there unless you can get a court to agree that there is no difference between religious preference and sexual preference (and thereby admit that sexual preference is something no greater than a choice in faith, giving up the “born this way” option for all time as a point, when it may be genetic – a very bad idea).
On the other hand we have tons of case law that show that different genders have to be treated equally. That includes people who were born of one gender and elected to become the other. You can NOT deny people access to the parade based on gender equality.
Why do the LBGT organizations make the same mistake every time. Because they make it about being “gay rights” a very slippery concept, verses gender rights, a well established legal concept on which they can win every time.
