Harkey Kicks off 2014 Campaign for State Board of Equalization
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO – Today, California State Assemblywoman Diane Harkey (73rd Assembly District) is announcing a series of events related to her candidacy to the State Board of Equalization, District 4. The office is currently held by Michelle Steel who will be termed out in 2014.
Launching her website at www.DianeHarkey.com, Assemblywoman Harkey plans to make her official announcement on February 18, 2013 at the Orange County Republican Party Central Committee meeting. Assemblywoman Diane Harkey is uniquely positioned to contribute her previous career experience spanning 30 years in banking and corporate finance, with business, taxation and budgeting in the State Capitol. She will bring a practical and pragmatic business perspective to the Board of Equalization with her real world experience interacting with small and large businesses.
As a current member of the California State Legislature, she has been recognized for her financial expertise as she works to promote fiscally-responsible solutions to address California’s debt, budget and cash flow problems. She is a knowledgeable and vocal taxpayer advocate serving as Vice-Chair of the Assembly Appropriations Committee and as former Vice-Chair of Revenue and Taxation Committee where she remains a member. Diane also serves as a member of the Assembly Budget, Banking and Finance and Public Employees Retirement and Social Security committees.
