LP VP Candidate Judge Gray to Speak at Fundraiser/Special Screening
Libertarian Vice Presidential Nominee Judge Jim Gray will be the special guest at a meet-and-greet and fund-raiser on October 27 that will include a special preview screening of Willie Nelson’s Luck Films’ new documentary Legalize It, a ground-breaking film on the Proposition 19 campaign to legalize marijuana in California in 2010.
“The time to end this failed policy is now,” said Judge Gray. “We are wasting lives and money on so many levels. Innocent people are being killed, our youth is being locked up and our streets are being over-run when simple legalization, taxation and education could be so much more effective.”
Judge Gray and Gov. Gary Johnson — the Libertarian ticket for the White House – are the only advocates in the race who intent to end the war on drugs in America. The Judge will be on hand to meet with contributors and will speak regarding moving forward on legalizing marijuana, both in California, and nationwide. He will also address the myriad of other issues facing the nation as we move toward November.
The private screening of the new documentary “Legalize It” will be held with film makers Markus & Dan Katzir on hand to answer questions. The movie, executive produced by Willie Nelson, explores the social justice implications of our failed national drug policy through the California Proposition 19 Campaign.
Barry & Diane Goldstein are hosting the event that includes valet parking, a taco bar, beer and wine. Special guests will include legalization activists Chris Norby and Steve Collett. The event will be held at 12904 Fairhaven Extension, Santa Ana, CA 92705.
A VIP reception with Judge Gray begins at 5 p.m. Suggested donation is $150.00 per person, $250 per couple and includes the screening. For those attending the screening at 6:30pm, a donation of $75.00 per person, $125 per couple is suggested. Please make checks payable to Gary Johnson 2012.(Contributions or gifts to Gary Johnson 2012 are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.)
