“The Orange County District Attorney’s Office is looking into a complaint that Anaheim Union High School District trustee and Anaheim City Council candidate Jordan Brandman used district resources for personal benefit, according to sources in both the DA’s office and school district,” according to the Voice of OC.
Anaheim Unified School District Board President Anna Piercy admitted that Brandman used public resources for personal use. According to Piercy, Brandman used a district headquarters office to do some work for his personal business when he didn’t have air conditioning at home, she said, and he brought in his own laptop for the work.
What Brandman is accused of doing is a possible violation of state law that is punishable by a $1,000 fine. He was fingered by AUHSD Trustee Katherine Smith.
Brandman is running currently for the Anaheim City Council. He supported the giveaway of millions of dollars of hotel taxes to a rich developer. He is backed by the SOAR PAC, a group of resort area hotels and developers that includes the PR bigwigs at Disney.
Brandman, a Democrat, may become the first victim of O.C. District Attorney Tony Rackauckas’ new Public Integrity Unit.
