ATLAS PAC Endorses Businessman Travis Allen in 72nd Assembly Race
(Orange County, CA) The ATLAS Political Action Committee is pleased to announce its endorsement of Huntington Beach businessman Travis Allen in the 72nd Assembly District race. Allen, a Certified Financial Planner and business owner, is a life-long Republican who signed the no new taxes pledge without hesitation. Allen sees everyday the damage done to his clients by Sacramento’s overregulation and big government policies.
Allen’s first priority is creating jobs by rolling back some of the burdensome regulations facing California businesses. Allen also believes in stopping tax increases and truly balancing the budget by putting people back to work and rebuilding the state’s economy. Allen has also gone on record that all these goals can be accomplished with a part-time legislature.
“I am happy to have the endorsement of Atlas PAC,” said Allen. “Atlas and I share many of the same values and beliefs in fiscal responsibility and limited government. With its recall of Anthony Adams, I know Atlas doesn’t take tax increases lightly and doesn’t just support any ‘conservative’ candidate. I look forward to taking my ideas to Sacramento and with the support of my constituents, changing the future outlook of California.”
Allen’s opponent and the current Mayor of the City of Los Alamitos, Troy Edgar, was a registered Democrat until 2006, and he refuses to sign the no new taxes pledge. Edgar also has a history of raising taxes and fees. For example, Edgar voted for a trash collection contract that costs the businesses of Los Alamitos $6.5 million more than the lowest responsible bidder.
“Atlas PAC is proud to support Travis Allen in the 72nd AD race,” said Chairman Lee Lowrey on behalf of the Atlas PAC Board. “With Republicans holding on to a slim two-seat plurality to block Democratic tax increases, we can’t afford to send a ‘Republican’ to Sacramento who we are not absolutely sure will vote against any and all efforts to raise our taxes.”

Gratifying to see that all the Atlas-backed HB City Council candidates lost this November. The Atlas mailers were the sleaziest ever. A new low.
