Supervisor Janet Nguyen, Chair of the Orange County Board of Supervisors, joins Deputy Chief of Staff Matthew Harper and OC Waste & Recycling Director Mike Giancola at the County’s First Green Vendor Fair
“Matthew Harper, a top aide to Supervisor Janet Nguyen, was quietly transferred this month from Nguyen’s office to OC Waste & Recycling as a public affairs manager. The move raised a few eyebrows in the supervisors’ fifth-floor offices in the county Hall of Administration,” according to the New Santa Ana blog.
Harper was a close friend of Supervisor Nguyen for many years, so why hasn’t she endorsed him, in his race for the 72nd Assembly District? Harper has picked up the endorsement of two other Supervisors, Vice Chair Shawn Nelson and Supervisor Pat Bates. But why hasn’t Nguyen elected to support her friend and former employee? As far as we know she also hasn’t contributed to his campaign coffers.
What does Nguyen know that we don’t? Or is she too gutless to go against O.C. Board of Education member Long Pham, who is opposing Harper in the GOP primary – in the only Assembly District that Orange County’s Vietnamese community has a shot at winning?
