Recruitment Begins for County Auditor-Controller
(Santa Ana, CA) — The Orange County Board of Supervisors has initiated the recruitment process to select the County’s next Auditor-Controller.
The Board is seeking candidates to replace David Sundstrom, who is resigning January 31 to become Auditor, Controller, Treasurer and Tax Collector in Sonoma County. Specific educational and professional qualifications for Auditor-Controller candidates are detailed in California Government Code section 26945. Since Auditor-Controller is an elected office, the individual appointed must also be a registered voter within the County of Orange and be qualified to vote for that office at the time of appointment.
“The Auditor-Controller plays a vital role in Orange County government and we are hopeful that this recruitment will attract many qualified and capable individuals,” said Board Chairman John M.W. Moorlach, Second District Supervisor. “Our Board will interview the top candidates for Auditor-Controller prior to making an appointment.”
Information about the Auditor-Controller recruitment, including the educational and professional qualifications, and a link to the online application can be found on theCounty’s website at www.ocgov.com/jobs. Qualified individuals are encouraged to apply as soon as possible since the recruitment will close on February 24, 2012. The Auditor-Controller’s annual salary is set at $173,097.

This position needs to be neither appointed or elected, it needs to be outsourced to an independent third party — individual or perhaps a big six firm.
