You want a gay parade in Orange County? Great. Then you pay for it!

Orange County Gay Parade

Can you believe it?  It’s been about a month since this year’s successful Tet Parade was held in Westminster and the O.C. left is still grousing about the fact that militant gay activists were not allowed to participate in it.

Orange Juice blogger Vern Nelson wrote a post today wherein he stated that “Presuming a deadline of MAY 1, which is roughly the time that a homophobe group could conceivably come back to ask for permission to run next year’s parade, they are looking at several options, the first and most essential of which is to add a non-discrimination clause to the city’s Special Events Permit Ordinance Ch 9.61.”

Let me translate that.  The militant gay activists want to change the law in Westminster so as to force the city to let them participate in ANY special event.

Now let me be clear – I support gay rights.  I support gay marriage.  I support gay military service.  I support gay adoption.  I support gay equal rights.  I do not however support this effort to force gay views on people that disagree with them – and on privately funded events.

The militant gay activists did NOTHING to help raise money to hold the Tet Parade this year.  But when they were banned they sued the non profit organization that did work so hard to raise that money.  That is not right.

I was at the Tet Parade, unlike Nelson.  It was heavily attended by families with kids.  They don’t need to see men, or women for that matter, making out in the Tet Parade.  Yet when the parade organizers asked the gay activists to promise not to do so, they would not make that promise.

If the gay activists want a gay parade why don’t they pay to hold one?  In fact they could do it on Harvey Milk Day.  Let them pay the cops and the street cleaning crews.  They won’t of course.  They rather hijack someone else’s event.  That dear readers is simply un-American!

You want a gay parade?  Great.  Then you pay for it!  Don’t stick others with your bills…
