Gee, I’m feeling left out… :-) I’m so non-influential, I didn’t even make the list (I’m not so sure that Troy Edgar would agree with y’all).

    • Sorry JM! I will add you to the polls! You did a great job taking out that darn Edgar!

      • JM Ivler

Excuse me, but there was also a great deal of other help, both at letsfixlosal.com and on other locations, where a number of posters took the time to educate the voters on who Mr. Edgar really was. Why we were on that mission? Well the vote shows why. Places where Troy Edgar’s record was better known overwhelmingly voted for the guy that they never heard of rather than the guy that they actually knew.

While it’s one thing to say you don’t like the guy you know, and you don’t know the other guy so why bother voting…. It says a great deal more that people knew Edgar and decided to vote in record numbers for the guy they knew nothing about (in other words, voting against Edgar because they knew him and a total unknown was a better choice).

We just happened to luck out that Travis (the total unknown) is honest and not covered in political filth.

Gustavo A., from the OC Weekly is honestly the most influential based on his played-out “Ask a Mexican?” piece. But, with the OC weekly publication it’s not fair to put him among people who don’t blog(write) for a living.

But if you want to compare him with other bloggers then it’s worth noting that he’s the “biggest blogging hypocrite” or El Mexicano Estupido.

Seriously, either his followers just don’t read the Weekly or read his long winded self-loathing stories on how the Weekly or Gustavo’ writers save the world, fought for those without a voice.

Really, fighting for those abused and exploited women in the sex trade industry as he allows for those Ads in the back pages of his publication. hypocrite!

I think Greg from the OJ blog went into this issue.

Then, if this self proclaimed Chicano activist knew anything about the history of the accessibility of drugs and alcohol, the over saturation of these “for profit” liquor stores and pot shops, he would be fighting against them instead of having a ad on every page.

Lastly, there is this “taco USA” book thing and despite building an image of being the Mexican spokes hole at the same time he using his government teacher position to peddle himself and his book, he hasn’t committed one dime to those he appoints himself as representing, the voice of the voiceless.

Nah! Just another fool who is fooling others with his “white man” “Capitalism” and the rich are the enemy while he sanctions and perpetuates some of the evil crap and greed he says he fights against.

  3. Wow, even though he was a late addition, JM Ivler’s already ranked # 2 for most influential, & well he should be. Taking down Troy Edgar is no small accomplishment.

But, as good as he is, JM is only one of three regular contributors to LetsFixLosAl.com. We also have “Highlands Guy,” our regular Thursday columnist for the past two years, and your’s truly, who’s been with the blog since the beginning, over 4 years ago.

We’re a small local blog, but all five of the candidates we endorsed in the last election were elected.

  4. Carpetbagger

I look forward to Joe Hill’s perspective now that the GAG of the Liberal OC (EA) has been removed. I suspect a smart guy like Joe has lot’s to say, now that he’s allowed to tell the truth.

  5. [...] why I’d like to encourage you to go to that OC Politics poll while it’s still open and vote for our own Mr. Ivler for “Most influential OC Political [...]
