In response to the school shooting in Connecticut, the Orange County Department of Education is posting the following resources to support schools, parents, and community members:
In the wake of the awful mass murder at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, parents may be wondering if our students are safe here in Orange County. Well, we may have averted another awful incident, when Huntington Beach High School student Christopher Michael Casey, 18, Huntington Beach was arrested after leaving a bomb threat note inside a classroom.
Casey has been charged with one felony count of reporting a false bomb threat. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of three years in state prison, according to a press release distributed today by the Orange County District Attorney.
