April 9, 2016 – The California Secretary of State recently released data that shows that 600,000 online voter registrations have take place in California since January 1, 2016. Here in Orange County we have seen our fair share of that surge, with nearly 35,000 (or 5.8% of the statewide total) new registrations alone since the start of the New Year. U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, (R-Texas), one of the Republican Party’s candidates for President, is coming to Orange County, on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at the Pacific Club, located at 4110 MacArthur Blvd., in Newport Beach, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Cruz campaign is asking donors to pony up $1,000 in order to attend this event, which will feature failed GOP Presidential candidates Carly Fiorina and Jeb Bush. You can RSVP here.

SANTA ANA, Calif. – A former volunteer treasurer for Congressman Dana Rohrabacher’s re-election committee is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow for embezzling over $300,000 from campaign funds and business the where the defendant worked. Jack Wenpo Wu, 45, Newport Beach, is charged with three felony counts of grand theft by embezzlement, 21 felony counts of forgery, with sentencing enhancement allegations for theft exceeding $100,000, aggravated white collar crime over $100,000, and property loss over $200,000. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 20 years and four months in state prison. He was arrested today and is being held on $322,000 bail and must prove the money is from a legal and legitimate source before posting bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow in Department CJ-1, Central Jail, Santa Ana. The time is to be determined. Continue reading
It looks like U.S. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher is going to retire from the 48th Congressional District. Former OC GOP Chairman Scott Baugh has quietly filed for a campaign committee for Rohrabacher’s seat, with the Federal Election Commission. And Baugh has purchased a URL, http://www.baugh4congress.com.
There is no way that Baugh would challenge Rohrabacher. The OC GOP frowns on challenging their own incumbents. (Just look at how awful Don Wagner looks as he lamely runs against State Senator John Moorlach!) Continue reading
