As I mentioned in an earlier post, Democrat Anila Ali has no chance whatsoever of winning in the June Open Primary Election for the 74th Assembly District. But I decided to take a closer look at her campaign to see if she had anything at all to say that might appeal to any voters outside of her party.
When you think about the top issues in California several come to mind, such as: the public employee pension crisis (that is bankrupting cities and counties and is a major threat to all of us); the drought (and the stupidity of saving the Delta Smelt while damning our agricultural industry); the ridiculous waste of money that is the doomed California High Speed Rail; the release from prison of dangerous rapists and murderers by Ali’s fellow Democrat, Governor Jerry Brown; and the fact that California’s residents are the highest taxed voters in the nation.
But Ali does not mention any of these issues on her campaign website. Instead she talks about being “business friendly” but then the rest of her platform is a plea to create more government union jobs, in education and in public works and parks. And she posted a screed about “equal protection under the law” but failed to mention how much it sucks that Obama’s administration is spying on us and on our global allies.
