74th State Assembly candidate Karina Onofre announces formation of a broad-based task force to immediately prepare a proposal to bring beleaguered LA Clippers to a new Orange County home
IRVINE – California State Assembly candidate Karina Onofre called to form a blue-ribbon committee to lure NBA Clippers basketball franchise from Los Angeles to Orange County. Said Onofre, an Orange County business owner and Democratic candidate, “Without any delay, I want to bring together a creative, think-outside-the-box Orange County active community team, to turn today’s problems into possibilities for tomorrow’s success.”
Continued Onofre, “I believe the Clippers are an up-and-coming franchise and have the potential to advance far in the NBA Playoffs. But shocking revelations about Clippers’ owner, Donald Sterling, who talked about the color of people’s skin rather than the team players’ character, winning-mentality, skills, or talents, have hurt the team, hurt Los Angeles, and hurt California. Imagine the immense benefit to bring the Clippers to a new Southland home, in Orange County?!!! If they accept our invitation, originating out of respect and admiration for the team, this will be monumental -especially if the OC Clippers decide to call Irvine, Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Laguna Woods, or the East side of Huntington Beach -all within our 74th Assembly District, their new home!!!
