Anaheim City Council candidate Jordan Brandman has been utterly trashed by a new website. The home page states, “Jordan is bad for Anaheim because he is part of the culture of pay for play in the City of Anaheim. ”
The Democrats in Orange County got ripped off badly by former DPOC Treasurer Kindee Durkee, so as you might imagine they are having to hit the fundraising trail hard. Here is a run-down of their upcoming events and fundraisers:

Apparently one of my readers insinuated that liberal Democrat Julio Perez, who is running for the 69th Assembly District (in last place according to a recent poll) is gay.
I tried to find the comment but could not. However it appears to have set off Orange Juice bloggers Greg Diamond and Vern Nelson. Diamond in fact immediately began to threaten me and he said that he would use the courts to force me to give up the IP address of the commenter who apparently insinuated that Perez is gay. It turns out that Anaheim City Council candidate Jordan Brandman didn’t break new ground when he decided to publicly support the $158 million hotel bed tax giveaway that his allies, Council Members Gail Eastman, Kris Murray and Harry Sidhu voted for.
For three year in a row, the Anaheim Union High School District (AUHSD) trustees, including Brandman, voted to defer their developer fees until the Gardenwalk project was complete. That was Brandman’s gift to the Orange County Business council, the Anaheim Chamber of commerce, big developers and SOAR (the Anaheim Resort Political Action Committee). Continue reading
Did you know that Anaheim City Council candidate Jordan Brandman spoke at a recent Anaheim City Council meeting – in support of the $158 million hotel bed tax giveaway that his allies, Council Members Gail Eastman, Kris Murray and Harry Sidhu voted for.
Today at a meeting of the Anaheim-based civil rights organization Los Amigos, Dr. Jose Moreno, a respected Trustee at the Anaheim City Unified School District (ACUSD) brought up the subject in order to ask Brandman, who is a Trustee on the Anahyeim Union High School District’s school board, to resign from that seat and remove himself from the City Council race, according to an inside source. Anaheim Council Members Gail Eastman and Kris Murray are members of the Advisory Committee of the SOAR (Support our Anaheim Resort) PAC (Political Action Committee. Both were endorsed by SOAR when they won seats on the Anaheim City Council in 2010. Yet they both voted last month to give “up to $158 million in tax incentives to build luxury hotels in the Disneyland area, despite opposition by city staff members,” according to the O.C. Register.
“The city will not provide any money up front for the $283-million hotel project, which is to include 866 four-star rooms. Instead, the hotels would get money later from hotel bed taxes. In Anaheim, guests pay 15 percent of their room rentals for the bed tax, which normally goes to the city,” according to another article in the O.C. Register. Continue reading
