Only one Fountain Valley City Council Member, Mark McCurdy, voted against the ordinance – and he did so with good reason. As McCurdy pointed out there are cancer patients and others who could benefit from medical marijuana – which should be legal in California because voters passed Prop. 215. Continue reading

Widespread awareness all over Southern California is needed about a proposed project….
It’s that of a 65′ high Clear Channel electronic message board with 30-year lease proposed for near the Fountain Valley water tank on Ellis at the 405 Freeway South (10955 Ellis Avenue, Fountain Valley). This towering sign will be seen far and wide…. into Costa Mesa.

The Fountain Valley City Council is considering plans for a 65′ high Clear Channel electronic message board of 672 sq. ft. (each face) with 850,000 lights and 48″ pole diameter. This digital blight would be placed near the Fountain Valley water tank at Euclid/Ellis at the 405 freeway.
This towering sign will be seen far and wide….into Costa Mesa. It will broadcast commercial, static ads for 8 seconds each. In the event of an Amber Alert or other emergency, that would be broadcast instead. There’s already a sign on this freeway for these types of emergency alerts. Similar existing signage in Costa Mesa at 23′ and 31′ in size. Yet this one will be a towering 65′ tall sign….34 – 42 feet higher! Continue reading

Why in the world would these politicians willfully choose to rip off their constituents by forcing them to pay more for trash hauling? I imagine that Rainbow has been stuffing the Council Members’ campaign coffers since 1957. Continue reading
