Orange County Supervisor Pat Bates is hosting a Fifth District Open House on Thursday, Dec. 12, from noon to 2 pm, at her office, located at 333. W. Santa Ana Blvd., in Santa Ana.
Pat Bates will be terming out as the O.C. Supervisor in the Fifth District, in 2014. Candidates who have already announced for her seat include Laguna Niguel Mayor Robert Ming and Mission Viejo Councilman Frank Ury. And supposedly Assemblywoman Diane Harkey is pondering a run too, even though she is currently raising money to run for the State Board of Equalization.
The Fifth District encompasses the South County Cities of Aliso Viejo, Dana Point, Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, the community of Newport Coast, as well as the unincorporated areas of Coto de Caza, Ladera Ranch, Las Flores, and Wagon Wheel.
