Pity the Orange County Republicans. Every two years they find some poor candidate to run against U.S. Rep. Loretta Sanchez, and she always wins.
UPDATE: “In the race for the new 74th District, Assemblyman Allan Mansoor raised more, but Newport Beach Councilwoman Leslie Daigle has more cash on hand, according to the latest campaign finance filings,” according to the OC Political blog. Mansoor only has $60,875 cash on hand. Daigle transferred $23,250 from her Council account and raised an additional $111,818 in 2011 for her Assembly campaign.
OC GOP Chairman Tom Fuentes is now deathly ill with cancer, but he is still working on behalf of his beloved Republican Party. He summoned GOP Assembly candidates Allan Mansoor and Keith Carlson (Huntington Beach) to his bedside last week, at his home in Lake Forest, according to O.C. Register columnist Frank Mickadeit, and sure enough Fuentes did it again – convincing Carlson to pull out of the race for the 74th Assembly District. That paves the way for Mansoor to go head to head with moderate Republican Leslie Daigle, a popular Newport Beach Councilwoman. Continue reading
