It looks like U.S. Rep. Mimi Walters won’t get to sail to reelection in 2016 without a fight. Mission Viejo Councilman Greg Raths has pulled papers to challenge Walters again, in the 45th Congressional District, according to OC Political.
Raths ran against Walters in 2014 but he was later elected to the Mission Viejo City Council. Now he has a title and can raise a lot more money than he did in 2014. Continue reading

OC GOP Central Committee member Aaron Bartlett recognizes the danger in what Walters is doing. He weighed in on this latest attack with this comment, “There’s been…blowback against Mimi for these negative mailers she has done against Greg dealing with his military service.”
Walters, in case you don’t know, is a tax-raising carpetbagger running for the 45th Congressional District. As a State Legislator Walters voted to increase the odious California Car Tax. John Moorlach is pulling out of the race for the 45th Congressional District and returning to the private sector, according to a post he wrote on his personal blog today.
Moorlach, who is currently an Orange County Supervisor, previously served as Orange County’s Treasurer/Tax Collector.
This move by Moorlach should put to the rest the ridiculous notion that he is a career politician. And it puts State Senator Mimi Walters in the lead for the 45th. Continue reading

SANTA ANA, CA – March 7, 2014 – The Registrar of Voters announced today that the nomination period has been extended until March 12, 2014, 5:00 p.m. for the offices listed below because the incumbent failed to file Nomination Papers by the March 7, 2014 deadline.
