Now Fresh & Easy says they are not closing their stores

Fresh and Easy fighting the good fight

We reported a few weeks ago that Tesco, a British Corporation, was considering closing their Fresh and Easy grocery stores.  I was personally aghast at that report as I love shopping at Fresh and Easy – so good news came today as Tesco announced, in an email to Fresh and Easy customers, that they are not in fact going to close their stores.  They did however admit that they are considering their options.

You have to wonder if part of the problem for Tesco is ObamaCare – which has greatly increased the cost of healthcare in this country and is killing jobs in every industry.

If you would like to help save Fresh and Easy, click here to like their new Facebook page.  Click here to find a store near you.  Here is Tesco’s email announcement:

Thank you for being a Friend of Fresh & Easy. We wanted to reach out to you to address numerous news and online reports about the future of our stores.

Our parent company Tesco is conducting a strategic review of Fresh & Easy – they’re looking at all options to find the best outcome for the neighborhood market that you – and we – have come to love. While we don’t know exactly what that outcome will be, or if Tesco will continue to own the company, we’re confident that Fresh & Easy can continue to be your favorite market.

We want to assure you: we don’t have plans to close stores. We’re still committed to providing delicious, wholesome and affordable food every day. We’re still Fresh & Easy; open for business with everything that you enjoy about our store, with even more exciting things to come. That’s why we’re going to keep on fighting the good food fight.

Now, more than ever, we appreciate your energy in our stores and being able to share a smile with you. We look forward to seeing you soon and thank you for your continued support.

The Fresh & Easy Team

  1. Whatever

So Fresh & Easy, owned by Tesco, a British company, is preemptively crumbling under the crippling weight of… Obamacare? Huh? Ever heard of NHS? And don’t Whole Foods and TJ’s and Ralph’s and every other grocery seller have to do the same things? What a bunch of malarkey.

Come on, post the comment. I mean, it’s not exactly standing room only around here.
