YLTA PUTS WATER DISTRICT ON NOTICE REGARDING WATER RATE REFERENDUM
The Yorba Linda Taxpayers Association (YLTA) officially notified the Yorba Linda Water District (YLWD) in writing on Monday that the District is improperly infringing on our rights under the California Constitution with regard to the Board of Directors refusal to rescind their excessive water rates or place the water rate referendum on the ballot, after over 5500 voters signed the referendum in under 19 days in September and October.
YLTA has retained the prominent law firm of Bell, McAndrews & Hiltachk (BMH) from Sacramento, who specializes in Government and Elections Code law. BMH attorney Brian Hildreth wrote, “By this letter, and on behalf of our client, we demand that the challenged legislative action (Resolution No. 15-22) be immediately suspended and that the Water Board forthwith consider its repeal or set it for an election.
