Safe and sane fireworks were illegal in the City of Fullerton for over 22 years until over 53% of the voters passed Measure X last year, allowing the sale and use of these fireworks, on the 4th of July.
Prior to the passage of Measure X, former Fullerton Council Member Travis Kiger said that “This goes back to freedom and the Fourth of July. This is America. Why is our city acting like our parent and telling us what we can do on our driveway,” according to the Daily Titan.
The Fullertonian blog reported this month that Council Member Jan Flory, who defeated Kiger in November, “suggested that for each firework sale, customers are provided a map of the city that limits which areas they can and cannot set them off.” Continue reading
